PHOENIX, Ariz. — May 30, 2026 — Fire 'n' Ice Sports Arena and SSS Academies announced that Nick Weaver has been named Basketball Director for Hillcrest @ SSS Academy Basketball, bringing Hillcrest's prep-basketball culture into one of Arizona's most anticipated new sports destinations.
In this role, Weaver will lead the basketball program as Hillcrest Basketball transitions into the Fire 'n' Ice campus and SSS Academies ecosystem. His responsibilities will include athlete development pathways, program culture, competition planning, recruiting-readiness, coach collaboration, family communication, and the day-to-day identity of the basketball academy.
The basketball academy is being built as a school-integrated pathway for serious student-athletes: a place where players can train consistently on professional courts, pursue school with a flexible academic structure, receive recruiting support, and build the habits, leadership skills, and character expected of athletes pursuing collegiate opportunities.
