PHOENIX, Ariz. — May 30, 2026 — Fire 'n' Ice Sports Arena and SSS Academies announced that George “GC3” Courtney III has joined the basketball leadership team as Director of Basketball Operations for Hillcrest @ SSS Academy Basketball.
Courtney will work under Basketball Director Nick Weaver as Hillcrest Basketball from Phoenix moves into Fire 'n' Ice Sports Arena and becomes part of the SSS Academies student-athlete model.
In this role, Courtney will support basketball operations, athlete and family communication, tournaments, exposure events, recruiting-readiness, student-athlete mentorship, and alignment between training, academics, and college preparation.
